Terms & Conditions

The Skin Fitness Clinic

Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: October 2026

Welcome to The Skin Fitness Clinic. By booking an appointment, attending a consultation, purchasing a treatment, or receiving any treatment or service at the clinic, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

These Terms and Conditions should be read together with any treatment-specific consent forms, pre- and post-treatment instructions, and other information provided to you by the clinic or treating practitioner.

1. General Information

The Skin Fitness Clinic provides a range of aesthetic, cosmetic, dermal and skin-health services.

Our aim is to provide safe, ethical and evidence-informed treatments tailored to each individual client's circumstances and goals.

All treatments are subject to appropriate assessment, medical history, contraindication screening, informed consent and practitioner clinical judgment.

Treatment outcomes vary between individuals. Results cannot be guaranteed and may be affected by individual anatomy, physiology, skin condition, lifestyle, adherence to aftercare instructions, medications, underlying medical conditions and other factors outside the clinic's control.

2. Medical and Cosmetic Treatments

Certain treatments offered by The Skin Fitness Clinic may involve prescription-only medicines, regulated medical devices or procedures requiring assessment by an appropriately qualified and registered health practitioner.

In accordance with applicable Australian and Queensland laws and regulatory requirements:

  • Treatments involving Schedule 4 or other prescription-only medicines will only be provided where clinically appropriate and following any required consultation and assessment by an appropriately authorised prescribing practitioner.

  • Prescription medicines cannot be guaranteed, requested by brand or product name as a condition of treatment, or promised before an appropriate clinical assessment.

  • The decision to prescribe, recommend, modify, postpone or decline treatment rests with the treating practitioner and must be based on clinical judgment, patient safety and applicable professional and legal requirements.

  • A practitioner may recommend an alternative treatment or approach where they consider it clinically more appropriate or safer.

  • A consultation or request for a particular treatment does not guarantee that the treatment will be recommended, prescribed or performed.

3. Dermal Therapy and Skin Treatments

Skin treatments and dermal procedures are performed by appropriately qualified practitioners operating within their professional scope of practice.

Before treatment, clients must provide accurate and complete information regarding relevant:

  • medical conditions;

  • medications and supplements;

  • allergies and sensitivities;

  • previous cosmetic or medical procedures;

  • skin conditions;

  • pregnancy or breastfeeding status, where relevant;

  • previous adverse reactions; and

  • any other information reasonably relevant to treatment safety.

Clients must promptly inform the clinic if their medical circumstances change between appointments.

The clinic may refuse, postpone, modify or discontinue treatment where a practitioner considers that treatment may be unsuitable, contraindicated or unsafe.

4. Informed Consent

Before treatment, clients will be provided with information relevant to the proposed treatment and will have the opportunity to ask questions.

By proceeding with treatment, clients acknowledge that they:

  • have received information regarding the proposed treatment;

  • understand the expected benefits and limitations;

  • understand reasonably foreseeable risks and potential complications;

  • understand relevant recovery and aftercare requirements;

  • have had the opportunity to ask questions;

  • have provided information relevant to their medical suitability; and

  • voluntarily consent to the treatment.

Consent may be withdrawn at any time. A practitioner may also stop or modify treatment where clinically appropriate.

5. Risks, Side Effects and Treatment Outcomes

All cosmetic, aesthetic and skin treatments carry inherent risks and potential side effects.

Depending on the treatment, these may include, but are not limited to:

  • swelling;

  • bruising;

  • redness;

  • tenderness or discomfort;

  • irritation;

  • infection;

  • allergic or hypersensitivity reactions;

  • pigmentation changes;

  • asymmetry;

  • delayed healing;

  • scarring;

  • unexpected or temporary changes;

  • unsatisfactory cosmetic outcomes; and

  • the need for additional or corrective treatment.

Clients acknowledge that individual treatment outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Where clinically appropriate, additional treatment, review or corrective treatment may be recommended. The clinic will assess such circumstances on an individual basis.

6. Treatment Concerns, Unsatisfactory Results and Review

The Skin Fitness Clinic is committed to addressing genuine treatment concerns fairly, professionally and on an individual basis.

If a client is dissatisfied with a treatment, experiences an unexpected outcome, or believes that a treatment concern requires review, the client should contact the clinic as soon as reasonably practicable.

Where appropriate, the clinic may require the client to attend an in-person assessment with the treating practitioner or another appropriately qualified practitioner before determining the appropriate course of action.

An assessment may be necessary to:

  • understand the client's concerns;

  • assess the treatment area and clinical outcome;

  • determine whether the concern is related to the treatment;

  • identify whether further treatment or management is clinically appropriate; and

  • determine whether any refund, credit, further treatment or other resolution may be appropriate.

Each situation will be assessed on its individual circumstances, taking into account the treatment provided, the client's clinical presentation, the nature and cause of the concern, the treatment plan, relevant medical information, aftercare compliance and any other relevant circumstances.

Depending on the circumstances and where clinically appropriate, the clinic may offer a review, further treatment, corrective treatment, treatment credit, partial reimbursement or other reasonable resolution.

A refund or reimbursement is not automatic and will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Where a client has a concern about a treatment, the clinic will first seek to understand and appropriately assess the circumstances before determining the appropriate resolution.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under applicable Australian consumer law.

Clients should not arrange treatment with another practitioner for the same concern before contacting The Skin Fitness Clinic where reasonably practicable, as this may make it more difficult to assess the original treatment and determine an appropriate resolution.

Where urgent medical attention is required, clients should seek appropriate medical care immediately.

7. Aftercare and Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for following all treatment-specific aftercare instructions provided by the clinic or treating practitioner.

Failure to follow recommended aftercare instructions may affect treatment outcomes and may increase the risk of complications.

Clients should promptly notify the clinic of any unexpected or concerning symptoms following treatment.

Where a practitioner recommends a follow-up appointment or review, clients should attend as advised.

8. Clinical Photographs and Records

Clinical photographs may be taken before, during and after treatment for purposes including:

  • clinical documentation;

  • treatment planning;

  • monitoring treatment progress;

  • assessing treatment outcomes; and

  • maintaining appropriate clinical records.

Clinical photographs and records will be handled confidentially and stored in accordance with applicable privacy and health-record requirements.

Clinical photographs will not be used for marketing, advertising, educational or promotional purposes without appropriate separate consent.

9. Privacy and Confidentiality

The Skin Fitness Clinic is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of client information.

Personal and health information is collected and used for purposes including providing treatment, maintaining appropriate clinical records, communicating with clients, arranging follow-up care and meeting legal and regulatory obligations.

Information will be handled in accordance with applicable Australian privacy and health information laws.

Information may be disclosed where:

  • required or authorised by law;

  • reasonably necessary for the provision of healthcare or referral;

  • required for professional or clinical purposes; or

  • authorised by the client.

10. Appointment Bookings

A valid credit or debit card may be required to secure an appointment.

Unless otherwise specified, no deposit is required at the time of booking.

By providing card details for the purpose of securing an appointment, the client authorises the clinic to process applicable cancellation, rescheduling or non-attendance fees in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

11. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

We value the time of our clients and practitioners.

A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required for cancellation, rescheduling, shortening or significant modification of an appointment.

An appointment cancelled, rescheduled, shortened or otherwise changed with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a fee of up to 100% of the booked treatment value.

A client who fails to attend an appointment without providing notice may also be charged up to 100% of the booked treatment value.

Where a cancellation occurs due to illness, clients should notify the clinic as soon as reasonably practicable.

For illness-related cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment, the clinic may request reasonable supporting documentation, such as a medical certificate, where appropriate.

The clinic may, at its discretion, waive, reduce or credit a cancellation fee based on the individual circumstances.

Cancellation fees are intended to compensate for practitioner time, clinic resources and appointment availability that may otherwise have been offered to another client.

12. Late Arrivals

Clients arriving late may have their treatment shortened, modified or rescheduled at the discretion of the clinic.

Where treatment cannot reasonably be completed within the remaining appointment time, the appointment may be treated as a late cancellation and the applicable cancellation fee may apply.

The clinic will endeavour to accommodate late arrivals where reasonably possible, but treatment time cannot always be extended where doing so would affect other clients or clinic operations.

13. Treatment Refusal and Clinic Rights

The Skin Fitness Clinic and its practitioners reserve the right to refuse, postpone, modify or discontinue treatment where:

  • the treatment is clinically unsuitable or contraindicated;

  • the client is unable to provide informed consent;

  • relevant medical information has not been disclosed;

  • there is a material safety concern;

  • the practitioner considers that the proposed treatment is outside their scope of practice;

  • treatment may create an unacceptable risk to the client;

  • practitioner or staff safety may be compromised; or

  • behaviour is abusive, threatening, discriminatory, inappropriate or materially disruptive.

Any clinical decision to refuse or modify treatment will be made having regard to client safety, professional obligations and applicable laws and standards.

14. Regulatory Compliance

The Skin Fitness Clinic operates in accordance with applicable Australian and Queensland legislation and relevant professional and regulatory requirements, including, where applicable:

  • Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) requirements;

  • Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) requirements;

  • Queensland Health requirements;

  • the Medicines and Poisons Act 2019 (Qld);

  • applicable professional codes and standards; and

  • other applicable laws and regulatory requirements.

Prescription-only medicines will only be prescribed, supplied, administered and managed where legally permitted and clinically appropriate.

15. Fees and Payments

Treatment fees are payable in accordance with the prices communicated by the clinic at the time of booking or prior to treatment.

Prices may change from time to time. Where a treatment price changes, the applicable price will generally be confirmed before treatment is provided.

Any additional treatment or service requested by a client may incur an additional fee, which will be communicated where reasonably practicable before the additional service is provided.

16. No Guarantee of Results

The Skin Fitness Clinic does not guarantee a particular cosmetic, aesthetic or therapeutic result.

Results depend on individual factors and may vary significantly between clients.

A client's desired outcome, reference photograph or expectation does not constitute a guarantee that the same result can or will be achieved.

17. Client Conduct

Clients are expected to treat practitioners, staff and other clients respectfully.

The clinic does not tolerate threatening, abusive, intimidating, discriminatory, harassing or inappropriate behaviour.

Where such behaviour occurs, the clinic may refuse or discontinue treatment and may require the client to leave the premises.

Any further action will be taken in accordance with applicable law and clinic policy.

18. Changes to These Terms and Conditions

The Skin Fitness Clinic may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to clinic practices, services, legislation or regulatory requirements.

The current version will be made available through the clinic's website, booking platform or other appropriate communication channels.

The Terms and Conditions applicable to an appointment will generally be those in effect at the relevant time, subject to any rights or obligations that cannot legally be altered retrospectively.

19. Acceptance

By booking an appointment, attending a consultation, purchasing a treatment or receiving treatment at The Skin Fitness Clinic, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

Where a separate treatment consent form or other document is provided, clients are also required to review and complete that documentation where applicable.

These Terms and Conditions do not replace individual clinical advice, treatment-specific consent documentation or any rights a client has under applicable Australian law.
